When Color Learned to Orbit
by Jibwa Studio
Bound in our laced skies, we are made of tulle, time, and a rainbow held by gravity.
The soft architecture of space.
An Astral Tapestry.
Planets unraveling.
When Color Learned to Orbit is a celestial fashion journey throughout our solar system, where the arc of nine planets becomes living color stories woven into fabric, form, and fantasy. Each look embodies a planet's unique essence in mood, mythology, and movement. This orbit creates a cosmic spectrum of expression - playful, powerful and poetic, as textures echo planetary surfaces creating gravitational pull from the audience. We invite them to imagine a universe where fashion is a cosmic language of color energy that forms constellations of artists, models, planets and possibilities.
This fashion odyssey is inspired by the planets in our solar system, each planet an astronomical body and an archetypal force; drawing from ancient mythologies, emotional symbolism, and the energetic language of color. Rooted in classical planetary mythology, the collection reflects how civilization once understood the cosmos as alive. Reminding us that we are all made of Stardust, color, and are endlessly in motion.
Mars embodies courage. Venus radiates love. Mercury dances with curiosity and communication, while Jupiter expands with abundance and wisdom. Saturn's structural Elegance honors time and transformation. Uranus breaks the rules with innovation. Neptune drifts through dreams and illusion. Pluto, once the planet, always a myth, represents rebirth, the shadow, and deep change that is yet to come in our world. Earth stands at the center, the living heart of the rainbow, grounding the celestial spectrum in breath, body, and belonging.
The Colors Learned to Orbit reflect the boundless nature of the cosmos itself. A reminder that fashion, like planets, holds memory of energy and intention. The collection invites the audience to witness the solar system not as a distant science but as a mirror of human emotion, identity, and interconnectedness. The Colors Learned to Orbit by not merely observing the universe but by wearing it.

For this year's House of GOCA; Stardust: She has teamed up with two artistic powerhouses; Melanie Audet and Lupita Carrasco.
Melanie Audet Is a fabric dyer working in the Pikes Peak region of Colorado. Along with teaching dye classes and hosting Blue Hands Art community events, she also runs two lines of hand dyed items and dyed accessories and is part of Blue Acorn Art Labs. Lupita Carrasco is an artist, wife, and mother of seven children. Born and raised in San Diego, California, her tumultuous childhood and vibrant Mexican culture lend their voice to her artistic language. Drawing inspiration from her heritage, lived experience, and the beauty of transformation, Lupita uses design as a powerful form of self-expression. Her creations blend bold detail with intentional craftsmanship, celebrating individuality while honoring tradition. Existential connectivity, intimate wonder, and belonging are familiar themes found in her work. Lupita’s work revolves around survival. Art is an avenue for processing her measure of the human condition.
Together they possess passion for creating meaningful art that speaks beyond the runway, leaving a lasting impression rooted in emotion, culture, and vision. Their collection prioritizes using vintage fabrics, handcrafted accessories, and natural dyed silks. The team incorporates symbolism, texture and intentional color work, inviting the wearer into a narrative rather than a trend. Each piece is thoughtfully constructed to tell a story—of resilience, identity, and creative freedom. Creating fashion as a constellation - each garment a moment in orbit.
