Art Without Limits
AWOL: Art WithOut Limits features temporary projects outside the confines of the gallery walls, from international, national and regional artists and collectives. Creating community through unforgettable shared experiences with art is a guiding goal of this program.
The project started in 2008 and launched a major new phase in 2018 with the opening of the Ent Center for the Arts which features numerous sculptures across the grounds. Past programs include social practice projects, public sculpture, multi-disciplinary performances, and happenings, as well as artist residencies.

Curious about the art across the street? University Village Colorado established a scholarship for UCCS students in 2011, resulting in a variety of sculpture installations in the shopping center since that time. Learn more about this program run entirely by UVC, here.
THE CURATOR
AWOL is curated by Dr. Joy Armstrong, GOCA’s Director and Chief Curator. A portion of the artworks on-display were curated by Daisy McGowan, former GOCA Director and Chief Curator until 2022. AWOL's programing aims to invite diverse artistic voices and build thematically and conceptually on GOCA exhibitions and programs.
