Enso Collection

by Deco-Boco

Winner of the 2025 "People’s Best in Show” Award, made possible by the Bill Burgess Memorial Fund

The title of the runway show, Psychedelic Garden, inspired Deco-Boco to utilize design elements reminiscent of the 1960’s, like tie-dye and phosphorescent paints, as well as origami and traditional Asian dress styles. This fusion of culture and style combine into the Enso Collection.

Using origami folding techniques, creating zero- waste designs, the designers explore the field of paper tessellation and repeating geometrical origamic module shapes to create surfaces with texture and contrasting vibrating colors. The 1960’s was a time of paper dresses, capturing the imagination of the designers.

Deco-Boco created the Enso Collection by upcycling traditional Asian clothing, like kimono, yukata, and hanbok, into present-day creative botanical inspired garments. Flowers and paper forms are a consistent theme throughout the collection, used in “over the top” signature pieces. Shodo, bamboo, and washi paper are seen throughout the pieces. Traditional Korean lotus petals, kimono sleeves, and other traditional Asian dress styles are incorporated throughout the collection.

“Enso” represents the perfect creative balance between fullness and emptiness within a single circle, encapsulating the inspirations for this collection.
