Hayle Hunsaker

Shortly after becoming a high school history teacher I began learning to sew as a way to support the theatre department at the school. I have worked on 10 shows with the high school and have designed 3 productions myself. Each show averaged 30 costumes, 90% of which consisted of thrifted and upcycled materials. My most recent costumes for the Addams Family Musical won “Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design” at the 2026 Bobby G Awards in Denver, CO.  

I am passionate about the growing issues with fast fashion and how it impacts our planet and work to incorporate upcycled materials into my life and work.
