Destination Rest
Destination Rest is a community nap that invites you to rest, relax, and replenish, in the community and the arts. We’ll have a custom tea service, affirmation poetry, sound bath, and writing workshop. There will be gifts and door prizes! Yoga mats and blankets will be provided, but feel free to bring whatever sleep materials help you rest (pillows, bolsters, blankets, etc.) You deserve to care for yourself and restore. Rest is resistance and we can’t wait to collectively relax with you!

About the Instructors
Ashley Cornelius, MA, LPC
Pikes Peak Region Poet Laureate
Ashley Cornelius ( she/her) is the creator of Destination Rest and believes rest and joy are our birthright. She was the first Black Pikes Peak Region Poet Laureate She is a nationally recognized and multi-award-winning spoken-word poet, facilitator, cultural worker and keynote speaker. She is the author of "Translations of the Soul" her debut poetry collection. Ashley is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has 7 years experience working in hospitals and healthcare using poetry therapy interventions and supporting staff resilience. Ashley is the Co-Director of Poetry719, a Black-led poetry group lifting the voices of marginalized communities through monthly events in Colorado Springs.
Samantha Paulin, LCSW
Holistic Therapist, Meditation Guide & Sound Healer
Samantha (Sam) Paulin (she/he) is a licensed clinical social worker and holistic wellness practitioner committed to fostering safe spaces for collective healing in BIPOC communities. As a certified yoga instructor, meditation guide, and sound healer, she provides a holistic approach to well-being that integrates the mind, body, and spirit. Sam's warm and inviting demeanor creates a nurturing environment where individuals can cultivate self-awareness, reconnect with their bodies, and discover newfound clarity, focus, and calm.
Mallory Everhart
Mallory Everhart (she/her) is a politicized spiritual healer, conflict specialist, and community herbalist trained in the Celtic Wisdom Woman tradition. Blending the physical, mystical, and mindful, she companions those seeking care toward deep nourishment relationship with their sovereign Self.

Welcome dreamers, you have caught the attention of The Universe and you are sitting at her feet.
She knows a universal truth about you, your voice is incredibly powerful and anything you say has the ability to come true.
She's invited you to say all that belongs to you.
Realize all of your dreams through affirmations.
She asks, “who you are?”
To this you reply…
I am resilient.
I am worthy of respectful and attentive love.
I am enough.
You tell her that you show up unapologetically and take the space that you are worthy of filling.
With every description of who you are, she smiles.
She names you divine.
She names you phenomenal.
You are made of decades of survival and resilience.
Your ancestors are smiling at the way you are caring for yourself.
You are healing generations by caring for yourself.
You speak into existence that you are a very wealthy woman, emphasis on the wealthy.
There is nothing that you need that you cannot have.
You are empowered.
The universe sees your gifts and offers you a seat at her council because she knows you are in the presence of God.
You are rich from your art.
You are whole.
You are powerful.
Most importantly, you love yourself.
You are treasured because you are slow to speak, quick to listen and slow to anger. You are creative.
You are loved and you give love.
Your cup overflows.
The Universe honors the way you take in abundance.
You are genuine.
You are a brave soul.
The Universe will write poems and sonnets and books about the way you honor your rest, about how deep and whimsical and silly your joy is.
She will tell generations that you are strong, that you are connected, that you are enough and that you feel love.
You are healing every day and it is a beautiful process.The Universe has granted you the ability to turn anything you say into reality and so you scream at the top of your lungs for abundance, for peace and joy, for love, for money to come to you and for all of this to overflow.
If you listen quietly, you'll hear the drum of your heart telling you that you are successful in serving your community through elected office, through your role as a parent, as a friend, as a partner, a lover, a child, a student, in every role you hold.
You are honored and appreciated.
You are a generational game changer who builds pathways for every descendant after you.
Your existence is important in this world. There is so much goodness that exists just because of your presence.
You are so beautiful and your soul is divine.
You are healing within and out.
Your life is perfectly fine.
You are deserving of all the great things. The universe only accepts audiences from the most incredible beings in the world. Which means you are the most incredible being in the world.
And you will not stress over things outside of your control because you are worthy of love and abundance, you are unstoppable, you are a badass.
You are a powerful co-creation of abundance and living beyond your wildest dreams, making the impact you came here for while money, resources, and support flow effortlessly and easily into your life and your bank.
Never forget that you are in a safe, loving, intentional relationship.
You are a priority that The Universe, every multiverse and timeline and branched timeline is so excited to have you in it.
She knows that this is an affirmation for peace and to be satisfied.
When you look up at the stars and remember your time with Thr Universe , know that she is saying you are courageous, generous, and kind in your words and actions.
Each of you has a seat with the universe. Each of you dreamers adds to the brilliance of the night sky. A reminder that you are not alone.
You will never have to go through this life alone.
Your life is abundant and you deserve love.
The Universe already knows this to be true, but leaves you with a tiny secret, something to tuck away into your ribs to keep in the deepest part of you.
The secret is that you are worthy of happiness.
That you are a lover of many things. God, sobriety, business, and peace.
Kindness is sexy and you wear it so well.
The Universe has tucked that away in you, knowing you were always a part of this deeply divine, expansive world.
You will always experience your body with and for yourself.
You are magic.
You are divine, you are astronomical.
You are the dreamers at the foot of the universe and your words have power, your affirmations create change, your rest is revolutionary and your joy is resistance.
