Memento: Perspectives and Places
The GOCA team is made up of talented visual artists, ambitious creatives, and hard-working museum studies majors. This group excels at working together day-to-day and now they are taking their teamwork to new levels by putting together a show digging into their personal experiences and how we as people interact with the environment around us. This exhibition features the artistic talent of Avery Jam, Katharina Hill, Margaret Bailey, Rachel Klap, Abigail Kopetzky, and Lynné Bowman Cravens; and the curatorial talent of Daniella Mata, Katharina Hill, Olivia Azadmanesh, Meredith Eaves, Abigail Kopetzky, and Noel Powell.
Translated from Latin, “Memento” means to remember. Memento: Places and Perspectives focuses on deeply personal works of art from all different places. Each artist has brought their own individual puzzle piece that the curatorial team has worked to fit together to create a dynamic story of perspective. See how our students and staff explore themes of memory and remembrance through painting, photography, embroidery, drawing, and sculpture.
