House of GOCA is an annual signature event celebrating avant-garde fashion and wearable art, where designers, artists, and performers converge to transform the runway into a living gallery. It’s a high-energy, immersive experience that blurs the boundaries between visual art, fashion, and performance. Each year, the event showcases bold creativity and community spirit, culminating in a dance party that keeps the celebration going.

Call-For-Entry: 2027 House of GOCA - homage

The House of GOCA returns in 2027! The UCCS Galleries of Contemporary Art (GOCA) is hosting the next 1-night runway wearable art and fashion event at the Ent Center for the Arts in Colorado Springs on Friday, February 19, 2027! GOCA is seeking submissions from Colorado-based fashion designers/artists/teams/performers to present mini-collections at the 2027 House of GOCA fashion event.

The 2027 House of GOCA theme, HOMAGE, draws inspiration from the vastness of human history and creativity. The show invites artists and designers to channel their own histories or historical passion – exploring the past by referencing specific eras, personal and cultural histories or forgotten memories through fashion and creative design. HOMAGE pays tribute to the ever-changing landscape of humanity and seeks to acknowledge stories lost to time.

Up to 10 designers/teams will be chosen by a panel of jurors; selected designers will present an approximately 8–10-piece mini collection. One piece from the collection must be a wearable art piece (i.e., Avant Garde, over the top). None of the presented pieces need to be ready-to-wear but can be if you choose. 

Each participating designer/team/performer will receive a $500 stipend to help bring their collections to life. There will be special juror's and people's choice awards at the event that include a monetary prize. It is FREE for applicants to submit to this open call. Submissions are due by midnight on Monday, September 7, 2026.

Application Requirements:

• Designer/Artist Bio (100 words)

• Resume for each designer/artist

• Collection/Performance Statement describing the themes behind your work (250 words)

• 3-5 images of current or previous garments/artworks

• Website/socials

Timeline:

• Submissions Open: Tuesday, July 6, 2026

• Submissions Close:  Monday, September 7, 2026

• Final Selection Notifications: Friday, September 25, 2026

• Dress Rehearsal: Thursday, February 18, 2027 6:00–8:30 p.m. 

• Event: Friday, February 19, 2027 6:00–11:00 p.m.
